TOGETHER
Together reimagines the former healthcare building on Dachauerstraße in Munich as a cultural, social, and architectural resource, exploring its potential to contribute to the future of urban living.
In a city with a high proportion of single-person households, the proposal explores how architecture can foster social interaction and create a sense of belonging. A diverse programme of cultural, recreational, and sporting activities invites the public to engage with the building, meet others, and share experiences.
The design is based on the principle of contrast, assigning distinct identities to the building’s two courtyards. One accommodates public activities across six floors, while the other provides a quieter, more private setting for residents. A central zone bridges these two realms through shared living spaces, mediating between social interaction and personal retreat.
The project envisions a model of urban housing in which community and privacy coexist as equally essential aspects of contemporary living.
