INBETWEEN 02

Inbetween 02 explores how the absence of sound can become a material for shaping space and influencing how we experience our surroundings. Developed through interventions in familiar circulation areas in public transitional spaces, the project investigates how a brief encounter with quietness can interrupt everyday routines and create a moment of perceptual shift.

The work takes the form of a passage constructed from sound-absorbing materials, introducing moments of acoustic and visual separation within the existing architecture. By passing through these spaces, visitors encounter a temporary contrast to the noise and activity beyond. The passages become subtle thresholds between openness and intimacy, drawing attention to the act of passing through itself.

Without imposing a specific way of engaging with the installation, this work invites individuals to decide whether to enter, pause, or simply pass by. Through the deliberate reduction of sensory stimuli, the project explores how absence can become a presence of its own, revealing new ways of noticing and experiencing space.
